03 / An unexpected Reserve
The 2009 Reserve was never part of the original plan. A barrel was misplaced at the winery and rediscovered a year later, after substantially more time in oak than the regular 2009 release. That accidental extra year became the only Two Monsters Reserve.
It earned Four-Star Gold at the 2012 Orange County Fair Commercial Wine Competition. The original plaque records just 39 recipients among 2,762 wines judged.

05 / Laurie, Lee, Julian & Jaiden
Laurie and Lee Shahin began by buying and storing wine for friends and family in the basement of their Santa Clara home. In 2001, that informal cellar became an online wine business with a small nearby warehouse.
In 2003, they moved the business to Colfax and opened a wine bar, restaurant and wine shop. Lunch followed in 2007, and Main Street Pizza joined the family business in 2009.
Two Monsters grew from that same family story. Laurie and Lee named the label for their sons, Julian and Jaiden—the original Two Monsters—and the releases helped support their college fund. The boys behind the name are grown now.
Produced by Montoliva Vineyard & Winery in Grass Valley, the collection’s remaining bottles have been kept in the temperature-controlled Basement Wines cellar, now part of Main Street Pizza and Wine in downtown Colfax.

Basement Wines reviews and accepts each order before release to the carrier. Weather holds may protect the wine from extreme heat or cold. Transit estimates are not guarantees; the seller will provide shipping updates.
Retain the wine and all packaging. Contact Basement Wines promptly with the order number and photographs. Do not return wine without written instructions. Cancellations, refunds and damaged shipments.
Wine and any separately purchased print-on-demand merchandise are fulfilled separately and may arrive in different packages. Merchandise does not remove the wine’s adult-signature requirement. No merchandise is included as a free gift with these collections.
The cellar is finite.
Once a vintage sells through, it joins the 2011 Petite Sirah in the archive.
